Jon Jarvis testifies at hearing of House Natural Resources Committee

Jonathan B. Jarvis (center, speaking in the microphone), Executive Director at UC Berkeley's Institute for Parks, People, and Biodiversity, testified at a special hearing of the House Natural Resources Committee. Jarvis, former Director of the National Park Service, was invited by the Chairman Raul Grijalva (AZ-D), whom Jarvis worked with in his previous position, to address impacts of the government shutdown to national parks and public lands. UC Berkeley’s Institute for Parks, People, and Biodiversity was established in October of 2017 with an initial grant from the Resources Legacy Fund and the Nathan M. Ohrbach Foundation. Jonathan B. Jarvis, who served as Director of the National Park Service from 2009-201, was hired as the Inaugural Executive Director and is part of the College of Natural Resources.
