February 20, 2023

The University of California, Berkeley, Institute for Parks, People, and Biodiversity welcomes two new Faculty Affiliates: Scott Stephens and Albert Ruhi, professors in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management.

Scott Stephens is a fire ecologist who has contributed substantial scientific research for fire management in Yosemite National Park and is providing science for national policy as an alternate on the U.S. Wildland Fire Mitigation and Management Commission.

Albert Ruhi is a freshwater ecologist whose research includes investigations of fish in an intermittent stream in Pinnacles National Park, which will inform natural resource management.

Faculty Affiliates form the core of Institute work, directing innovative research and developing solutions for conservation in national parks and other protected areas.
