Institute for Parks Welcomes Todd Dawson as a Faculty Affiliate

The University of California, Berkeley, Institute for Parks, People, and Biodiversity welcomes Dr. Todd Dawson, professor in the Department of Integrative Biology and the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, as a new Faculty Affiliate.

Todd Dawson is a plant physiological ecologist who has published scientific research on redwood ecology, climate change and land-use change impacts on vegetation, and ecohydrology. His research has provided new results on the key role of trees in the water cycle of forest ecosystems. Among numerous field sites, he and his colleagues have conducted research in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, and the Reserva Biológica Bosque Nuboso Monteverde, Costa Rica.

Todd also serves as Director of the UC Berkeley Center for Stable Isotope Biogeochemistry and Faculty Director of the UC Berkeley Blue Oak Ranch Reserve.

Faculty Affiliates form the core of Institute work, directing innovative research and developing solutions for conservation in national parks and other protected areas.
